No picture today. Instead, today is a rant day. For a few reasons, so here they are:

  • I’m sick of people passing judgement for no reason
  • Being more concerned with looks than things that truly matter

Being at school I tend to see things a little more clearly. When you pass judgement upon someone based on their race, music choice, the way they dress, or where someone was born then you’re being immature. Sure, passing judgement is a human flaw that we all have at times but when it is all you can talk about or see, then that is a serious problem. I feel like everyone is having a huge miscommunication due to what we say, see, or don’t say. If someone is African American and they ignore you it doesn’t mean that they think you’re a “white racist” person. I’m sick of hearing my roommates talk shit about my suite mate based off of their judgements and miscommunication. Yes, she is black, but no she does not think that the entire world owes her. I’m sure there are some people out there who have that frame of mind but not everyone is a walking stereotype. This world disgusts me sometimes and I think it’s due to the way everyone pretends to listen and understand, but instead judgement is being passed easily. I know I judge at times, because I’m far from perfect, but never again will I become unnecessarily mean to anyone. Also, if you have an opinion, that’s fucking great. I love people who have an opinion on any topic, but if you feel the need to share you opinion in order to bring someone else down then go fuck yourself. Say you dislike a certain band—that is your opinion but if you say something like, “You’re an idiot for liking this band,” then someone is going to get offended. That’s not accurately sharing an opinion, that’s just being a douche. Or if, for example, you think that having tattoos is trashy, then think that and ignore the people who decided to cover their body in art or something that means something to then. It’s a decision someone decided to make for whatever reason and therefore you should not disrespect them. I honestly don’t see how everyone has become this rude and I hate not saying anything. All I do is sit there while people constantly hate on each other and cause conflict, but I’m done with not saying anything.

As for being more concerned with the way you look than lets say your hobbies, the things you love, the people you love, school work, or even following your dreams then get your priorities straight. Yes, I’m a girl and I love to shop and do my own thing as much as possible, but the way I look is not always on my mind. I also think about bigger issues or listen when people speak. When you’re so busy fixing your hair that you don’t hear someone crying for help then what are you doing with your life? “Oh hold up, I have to take yet another picture of myself so I can post it on social media and get likes!” Seriously? We get that you’re gorgeous or handsome etc., but it would also be nice to see that you have some substance behind your looks. Yes, I am jealous of the girls and guys that look good all of the time, but I don’t obsess over it. I know people that are like, “Gosh I wish I looked like her,” or “I want to buy and do exactly what she does.” But why? Then you’re not being your own person. You are gorgeous in your own way and I usually see beauty in more than just looks. Looks can be great, but I love seeing what can make someone smile, I love having a deep conversation with someone where I learn who they are on the inside, I love seeing their inner beauty reflect on the outside.

This is probably a long and weird rant, but I would just like to see more respect and less focus on the material goods in this world. It makes me sick. We all have different perspectives based off of our experiences that reflect in our opinions and thoughts, so before you judge try and remember that someone might think they way they do for a reason and then try and understand it.
